We conducted a study under the AWS Kit4Market initiative on energy efficiency measures for public buildings in Uzice, Serbia.

The main topics of our work and the main findings are as follows:

• Serbia as an EU accession Country has taken several efforts to adapt its energy efficiency policies to EU standards
• The practical implementation of energy efficiency measures in the public building stick is still lacking behind
• Some identified challenges and hurdles are: low energy tariffs for consumers, creditworthiness of municipalities, limited borrowing capacities of local governments, consumption-based billing system often missing; high conversion factor for electricity due to coal dependency favors investments in electricity reduction vs. heating reduction
• As showcases 3 selected buildings evaluated:

• An excel tool for energy efficiency investment calculation has been developed
• Several events organized as webinars for different stakeholders including one event in cooperation with WKO Belgrade for Austrian companies and Serbian representatives
